Zedu Weekly Wrap – 8 October 2021
October means #MUAM…
for those of you looking for yet another acronym, it means Medical Ultrasound Awareness Month. While if you’re reading this then you’re all too aware (at least in an ultrasound sense), the goal of MUAM is to raise more general awareness of the many ways ultrasound is used – beyond babies. So keep your eyes out for the many things planned from around the world.
It also means #Blocktober, which sees Jeff Gadsden (@jeffgadsden) deliver amazing pain management #POCUS. Be sure to check out his feed.
And finally we’d like to bid farewell and offer a big thanks to EMSPOCUS who – after years of dedication to the cause of ultrasound education – have decided to hang up the probes. This passionate group will be missed.
And as always -if you have something coming up you’d like to add or a gem we may have overlooked – let us know.
See you next week.
Mike and Suean
P.S. – This month’s Coaching Corner recorded last night – on B-Mode cardiac imaging – will be online soon.

Let's be honest, it wouldn't be a #LIVES2021 conference without some #echofirst #POCUS thread. I've picked out a series of posters….

On day 6 of #blocktober we’re going to look at a modern classic: the TAP block. A relatively simple technique, it’s found a solid place in the pantheon of blocks. Today we’ll go over the sonoanatomy and some tips and tricks for success. What are your top TAP tips?? #DukeRAP pic.twitter.com/RtPjQ8ym9E

Hi #Blocktober friends! On day 5 we'll be looking at ultrasound for neuraxial procedures. It's a great tool to have in your back pocket, esp when caught off guard by that unexpectedly tricky spinal or lumbar puncture. How often are you using US to image the spine? #DukeRAP pic.twitter.com/kYfBH90cWS

Hi everyone,
It is with great sadness that we must announce that we are ceasing operations as EMSPOCUS.
We started this as a project back in 2015. Since that time, we have grown, written a book, and taught our courses across the globe.

On Day 2 of #blocktober, we'll be taking a deep dive on the PENG (Pericapsular Nerve Group) block.
