Join our POCUS educator/SEED support network
Hi everyone
We’ve just finished a incredibly fun TRain the UltraSound Trainer course (next dates October 22-23) and in the process I realised a couple of things.
First – that there was no one-stop shop where people interested in becoming a POCUS educator (or a Sonographer Educator in the Emergency Department) could find information on what you need to know and where you can go for that information.
Second – that we needed to create a space where we could easily share ideas, problems, tips and tricks for POCUS education – a safe space where we can really create a community dedicated to improving the teaching experience.
So I’ve done both!
The POCUS educator / SEED resource page
If you or someone you know is looking to transition from a clinical ultrasound role to a a POCUS educator/SEED role where the scope of practice extends far beyond imaging, then we’ve curated a range of resources and tips that will help you get started.
From core POCUS skills to apps, books and social media, we’ve created this resource as a living page, anticipating that it change as the world develops. We’d love for you to contribute; if you have a tip, a trick or a resource you think others would benefit from let us know.
Check it out – hopefully it sparks some ideas, discussion and interest in pursuing POCUS education as a truly distinct career path.
The POCUS educator / SEED support network
While working in education is a highly rewarding career option, you are often working in isolation or in circumstances where testing new ideas or fixing problems proves difficult.
So – we’ve created a space for anyone that share a passion for #ultrasound education – with a focus on the point-of-care learner.
Whether you’re an independent ultrasound educator in a rural and remote environment, or a hospital employee in a major urban centre, we want this community to be the go-to spot to explore ideas, spark debate, network and most of all learn from each other.
Our philosphy is – it takes one person to identify a problem, it takes a team to solve it.
