Zedu Weekly Wrap – 1 July 2022
It’s school holidays…
so the Zedu crew have been taking a little time for a quieter relaxed week to catch up with family – and hopefully some sleep; given it’s been the first uninterrupted school term for a few years everyone needs it!
Now tipping into a new month and new financial year this week – fun for those accountants amongst us.
Hot off the press this week are a few new covid related lung ultrasound articles (see @Crit_Care and @BMJ_Open) – these continue to bring new and interesting information. And a couple of articles on integrating POCUS education in the emergency (@nilamjsoni and @AIUMUltrasound @IUEM_ultrasound) and internal medicine space – well worth a read. And a new POCUS book on the way soon – Point-of-Care Ultrasound in Critical Care: a practical guide to POCUS – by @LukeFlower1 et al.
That’s all for now…see you next week
Mike and Suean
P.S. – July’s #coachingcorner is only a week away. This month Suean has been asked to cover the basics of breast #ultrasound – how to, tips & tricks. Zoom in live & free Thurs 7 July, 7.30pm (AEST)

Get the most out of your teaching moments – join our TRain the UltraSound Trainer (TRUST) course This isn’t a course on how to perform an ultrasound examination or use the technology – it’s designed to give you the teaching tools you’ll need to teach ultrasound on the run. In the words of a previous participant – it’s meta! We’re running this internationally recognised course in Australia for the first time in July and October – don’t miss out.

🗝 key measures to prevent CRBSI
Most of times CVL essential in #ICU but deescalation to PVL to be promoted. ⬆️ occlusions/thrombosis w midline/PICCS, CRBSI similar to CVL; interesting out ICU.

Advancing technology has birthed pocket-sized #POCUS devices that increase accessibility & address limitations of conventional #ultrasound machines.
